  Player pianos and related instruments:

We can install pianola electrification units to turn your
foot-pumped player into an electrically pumped player.
In stock we carry a very large quantity of rolls old and new for many instruments.

Where a customer may desire to expend a fixed amount in
general on a particular instrument, as opposed to a full
restoration or an individual component. We can gear the
restoration or repair works for you to best use that amount
as effectively as possible to bring the instrument into a
good playing condition.

Pianos:

We undertake all repairs to pianos whether upright, grand,
square, mini, straight-strung or over-strung, underdamped
or over-damped, player-piano or ordinary.

In addition to general repairs we offer a comprehensive
rebuilding service including rebuilding, plate re-gilding,
case re-polishing and re-stringing.

Here you see David the owner of the Pianola Shop carrying out hammer
replacement to a model 'K' Steinway Electric Duo-Art. Each hammer is
carefully lined up in turn with each string and checked for travelling etc
and is then glued on after all checks have been carried out.

This is one on many painstaking jobs in the course of a full rebuild to a
clients instrument. Major rebuilds of this type have to be booked in with
us months in advance and cost from £5,000 to £15,000.
